In 2010, founder Rob van Hoorn was asked whether he could come up with a solution for the Maritime Innovation Platform to treat the ballast tanks of ocean going vessels against corrosion without the need for blasting. The winning result was the nC Corrosion Passivator. This made it possible to treat 1,200 cubic meters of tank volume per day against corrosion at a fraction of the cost and without unhealthy and labor-intensive work.
